Hasbro Data Breach Exposed Employee Personal Information
Hasbro has notified employees that a security incident may have exposed their personal information, including names, addresses, and financial details. The breach is linked to a cyberattack in March, and while Hasbro claims no misuse of data has been detected, they are offering identity protection services to affected employees.
Hasbro has informed employees that a security incident could have compromised their personal data. The notifications sent to impacted individuals detail that the exposed information varies by person, but may include names, email addresses, postal addresses, phone numbers, national ID numbers, and financial details. The breach is believed to be connected to a cyberattack that Hasbro experienced in late March, leading to the temporary shutdown of some systems.
According to data from Revelio Labs, the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office has been notified about the breach, and initial reports indicate that 436 residents are affected. Hasbro employs approximately 4,600 people globally, with the majority located in the United States. The company’s investigation, conducted with the assistance of external cybersecurity experts, determined that some current and former employees’ personal information may have been accessed during the incident.
Hasbro stated that it is currently unaware of any misuse of the data and has no indication that it will be exploited. As a precautionary measure, the company is offering identity protection services through a third-party provider to those affected. No known cybercrime group has currently listed Hasbro on its leak websites.
