Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) announced on Tuesday that it had uncovered a significant espionage operation targeting high-ranking Russian officials. The agency claims foreign intelligence services utilized the technical capabilities of major international technology companies, including Cloudflare and Fastly, to install malicious software on the mobile devices of these officials. This software allegedly facilitated data extraction, communication interception, and covert audio and video surveillance, focusing on accessing sensitive information like contacts, plans, and assessments. The FSB has initiated a criminal investigation and is working to identify the perpetrators and map the infrastructure used in the operation.
